1) Introduce yourself and your blog to our readers.

Hi, I’m Arv! I blog on https://jaipurthrumylens.com, a blog on Jaipur. I’m sure most of you must have heard of this city which is popular the world over as the Pink city. Jaipur is recognized as one of the top places to visit in India and offers a host of things to see and do.

My blog takes a non-conformist approach to showcasing the city I live in. I launched this blog to share my explorations with the world. Some people call it backyard exploration – travelling in your own city. I started blogging in 2015 but it was only in 2016 I took it seriously.

You will find a variety of subject on Jaipurthrumylens – travel, food, nature, history and heritage to name a few.

2) What’s your style of travel?

I enjoy all kinds of travel style – luxury style when travelling with family, backpacker if it is a solo trip.

3)Which place are you from? What are the top 3 must-visit places in your city?

Jaipur. Amer Fort, Galta Ji Monkey Temple, and Nahargarh Fort.

4)Do you like travelling Solo or with a Travel Partner.Why do you choose so?

I think each has its own benefits and I travel solo as well as with partner.

6) What is the message that you have for all aspiring Travel Blogger.

Look beyond the usual and never tick places – don’t explore places if it is not your pick. There’s always something to your liking every place you visit.

7) The best piece of advice that you can give an amateur travel blogger aspiring to earn a passive

Income through blogging? It is a long and arduous journey. Never trade a secure income to that from blogging.

8)Do you have any funny/strange travel story?

I’m always mistaken for being a foreigner even in my city!

9) If you could go back in time. Which ancient ruin from around the world would you choose to visit and explore. Why?

Roman Empire. I love its architecture and grandeur

10)How does “Travel” make you feel?

It enlightens you and makes you wiser.

11)Name your top 5 bucket list travel destination and why do choose it?

I stopped creating bucket list long ago. It never works instead I take it easy.

12)Do you have any tips on travelling with a pet?

Don’t have one – not a pet person!

13) Where do you prefer to stay- Hotel, Hostelor AirBnB etc? Why?

I chose one depending on place and suitability. Personally, I feel AirBnB is a great choice in Europe. In Asia, we have plenty of cheap hotels to choose from. My preferred choice is boutique hotels.

14) As travellers we all love collecting Souvenirs. What do you love collecting?

Pictures and memories.

15)When do you find time to blog on your travels? How long do you usually take to finish a blog.

It will be hard to specify time. At times, I have finished a blog post in 20 minutes whereas in some cases, I have taken a few months.

16)Do you send postcards to your friends when you travel? If not postcards what souvenirs do you prefer to gift your friends?

I generally don’t buy souvenir or gifts. If it is a gift, I match it with the persons preference and choice.

17)What’s your favourite cuisine? Do you like trying out local food when you travel to places. If yes, what’s your favourite dish that you loved the most?

Nothing in particular. I’m conservative when it comes to experimenting in food.

18) When do you prefer to travel to a new place – peak season or off season? Why?

Just before the tourist season starts. Who likes crowd?

19)How do you manage your travel expense? Do you have any particular suggestions for budget travellers?

Plan well and seek suggestions from the locals; they are the best guides. Despite all the advancements, there are many things that Google can’t answer.

20)If you had to draw a pie chart of your travel expenses. What would your top 5 priorities be?

21) What are the apps or resources that’s been an absolute lifesaver during travels or planning your trip?
