Most Awaited day😍😉

With a lovely smile on her face she looked at the calendar and said to herself “yayy!!! One more day to go”. It was Friday morning. Her parents and little sister(Dia), were coming to meet her . She couldn’t wait to see them. I am sure everyone would have gone through this feeling at some point in their life. To while away the time she ( a home maker) had decided to get herself busy with cleaning and laundry work , since her plan was that by the time she finished her work , the day would be almost over and thus she will have to wait less for the much awaited day .
Cleaning and laundry work did take a while.. By evening when her hubby returned from work. They watched their current favourite show on Netflix “Grimm”. This had become a fun routine during dinner time. The show kept them glued to Netflix. Hubby being her best friend , this was more like a night out with hostel besties. She loved spending time with him. She definitely was excited about Saturday since her parents and sister were coming .. but there was more to the excitement. Two more days to go for their first wedding anniversary- “parents and sister coming home plus soon to come first wedding anniversary” this sure is a cool reason for super excitement and eagerness.
Her mobile vibrates ..she was awake… she picks up her mobile to check her whatsapp messages. It was 1:34 am (6th May- Saturday) when she checked the time. The message was from her sister. It was a groupfie 😅😍 that they took from Bangalore airport. The little naughty one (Dia) was the one that usually gives her a running commentary (as she calls it) ..of everything that was happening back at home. The idea behind being the fact that besides staying with her hubby she wouldn’t miss what was happening at home back in India. Dia sent her the picture so as to let her know that they were at the airport and will be boarding soon.
She checked the picture and texted back “ happy and safe journey😍😍😍 …see you all soon”. She kept the mobile back to its place , and looked out of the window ..the dark night sky was beautifully lit by thousands of tiny little stars.
Too excited to sleep and too tired to wake up.. her mind wanders constantly trying to plan all the small things that needs to be done..
The next thing she remembers is her hubby waking her up at 6 am with a reminder of her parents arrival.. it was the sweetest alarm reminder in her life. Her hubby is off work and her parents due to land.. she begins the day by thanking god for such a wonderful opportunity to spend a month in the company of people who care for her most in the whole world..
In our busy lives we often forget to cherish these moments.. but it is sad that we then look back after a few decades, the only thing worth remembering are those precious few moments and interactions we had with our family and friends. Let us endeavour to celebrate each memorable moment since they form our tomorrows sweet memories…
