Screening Room: An Offbeat Movie Experience.
One of the fun ways to spend a Friday Night is watching Movies. We all love watching movies of various genre. For a change why don’t we try out watching movies at a more cosier ambience.
Visit the Screening Room at Singapore and experience the difference. They play old classic and thought provoking movies from around the world here.
The Screening Room is in one of the beautiful heritage Shop-houses of Club Street. They also have an exquisite rooftop Bar.The club street itself is a hidden gem in the city of Singapore. I love the architecture of these shop-houses. They look so petite yet adorable.
They Screen movie at 8:30 pm every night.Don’t expect a usual ticketing service for the movie here though. They Run the Rooftop Bar and the Screening room together. You could just grab a drink from the rooftop bar and go to the Screening Room. That’s all the ticketing that is required. Then sit comfortably in one of the Comfy Couches and enjoy watching the movie. It’s an amazing place to spend the Friday night with your loved ones. The best part is this place really suits Couples, Friends and Family alike.
We really enjoyed our visit to the Screening Room. In my opinion it’s a place worth visiting. Here are few photographs taken during our visit :
The movie we watched was Pan’s Labyrinth a 2006 movie that belongs to the Genre of drama/ Fantasy. We had been keeping a track of the movies being screened here for quite some time and finally this movie is what caught our attention.
The movie was really good. It’s a Spanish movie that narrates the life a girl named Ofelia in Spain during 1944Â five years after the Spanish Civil Wars.
The story intertwines between the real world of Ofelia and how she interacts with the mythical world centered on an overgrown , abandoned labyrinth and a mysterious faun creature and the circumstances that eventuates from this.
People might wonder why did I mention this place in particular in my blog. You have to visit this place to know why I mentioned it. It’s truly a hidden gem in Singapore. Those who are looking for some really offbeat places to visit in Singapore like me,this place definitely has to be on your list. Screening Room and Rooftop Bar housed in a beautiful heritage Building with it’s vintage settings definitely adds beauty to the buzz of Ann Siang Hill and Club Street.
