Wondering what to include in your itinerary to explore Singapore .Well since I stay in Singapore I thought why miss out on one of the most beautiful place. In a series of upcoming blogs I’ll discuss fun things to do, places you must visit and also a list of ‘off beat’ places to explore in Singapore.
To begin with I choose Sentosa Island.
The moment you check on google for must visit places in Singapore the first place that pops up is Sentosa Island.
The Island Sentosa is definitely worth visiting. The Island is the hub for fun activities in Singapore.
1) SEA Aquarium: Visit the huge Marine Realm in Sentosa. SEA Aquarium is the home for more than 100,000 underwater animals and more than 800 species. You will be amazed by how beautifully the SEA Aquarium is maintained. There are over 200 Sharks in the Shark Seas Section. They also have Scalloped Hammerhead Shark and aggressive Silvertip Sharks which are endangered species.
As I strolled across the SEA Aquarium I felt like I was walking inside a tubular passage right in the middle of the ocean with all these lovely marine animals including the dangerous predators such as sharks swimming around me.
Sometimes you wonder who is actually watching who. Are we looking at the underwater animals in the SEA Aquarium or are they swimming by the human Aquarium and looking at us.
There are no words to describe the amazement that one perceives upon coming to the SEA Aquarium. You can spend a whole day in here clicking pictures and learning more about the myriad number of amazing species living underwater.
It is true there is so much beauty on earth and definitely a lot more underwater.
If you are very keen on marine life you could even pin down the photographs of every species found in the SEA Aquarium here and make a comprehensive Journal . Here are few photographs that I had captured during my visit to SEA Aquarium.
My Favourite Section was the Jelly Fish Section:
These are just a handful of Photos. You will be amazed by the huge collection of marine life that is there in the SEA Aquarium here in Singapore. There are plenty more such photogenic underwater animals and fishes. This is a must visit when you plan a trip to Singapore.
2)Universal Studio Singapore:
This is the most famous Theme park in Singapore. There are lot of fun things to do here.
Note: Do not club both SEA Aquarium and Universal Studio on a Single day since in both you’ll have a lot of things to explore and enjoy , you might run out time and might not be able to fully explore both if you plan it all on one day.
For thrill seekers the Universal Studios Singapore is a dream come true. Adrenaline Junkies will love the speed of most of the roller coaster rides. The Scariest is the world’s tallest dwelling roller coasters – ‘Battlestar Galactica- both human and Cyclon version’.
There are indoor roller coaster rides – ‘ Revenge of the Mummy’ and ‘Transformers Ride: the ultimate 3D Battle’.
Revenge of the Mummy and the Transformers Ride are my Personal Favourite😍😍.Don’t miss these!!!
Have fun with family and meet your favourite characters from the movies Madagascar, Shake hands with the cast from Shrek and click the perfect selfie with the minions. Enter the Jurassic world and enjoy the canopy ride and enjoy the other adventurous rides here that takes you into the Jurassic World itself.
Well, I am not spoiling all the fun by explaining more about Universal Studios .There is still a lot more such fun rides that will amaze you when you go visit in person.
For Tourists you can avail a One-day Pass or other passes based on your convenience by checking out the official website given below:

2) Madame Tussauds Singapore: this is the 7th Asian branch of Madame Tussauds (wax museum) opened in Singapore on Oct 25th, 2014. Haha! The main agenda of visiting Madame Tussauds is to click pictures with your favourite Celebrity.
Check out the link given below:

Few pics taken at Madame Tussauds:
3) Trick Eye Museum : Well this one is an excellent idea all together. This is an amazing 4D museum .Trick eye museum as the name suggests tricks your eye and brings you closer to the art through optical illusion. Immerse yourself into the pictures there are specific instructions to be followed such as where to stand and which angle to take the pictures. Follow it and recreate the painting with you in it.
Below is the link to the main Website of Trick Eye Museum.

4) Be Amazed by the Majestic 37m tall Merlion Statue at the Sentosa Island made of concrete. Don’t forget to take Pictures at this spot since this definitely is a cool Instagram photography spot.
5) Travel in monorail( Sentosa Express): This monorail connects Harbour front Station to the Sentosa Island. There are four main stations at Sentosa Island and they are as follows: 1.Sentosa Station, 2. Waterfront Station, 3.Imbiah station and 4. Beach Station. The monorail switch tracks and travel in a loop to all the four stations. Once you have finished your adventures in Sentosa Island and you still have time on your hands take the monorail to the other three stations as well and enjoy the monorail ride. Since it moves in a loop you’ll get back to the main station once you take a complete look at the entire Sentosa island.
How to get to Sentosa Island?
- Travel to Harbour Front MRT Station and walk straight into the Vivo City Mall .
- Go to Level 3 in Vivo City to Sentosa Express Station.
- Take the Monorail and go to Waterfront City .
- You have reached your destination.
- Have Fun!
The best mode of travel to explore the Singapore?
1)In Singapore the easiest way to travel and explore the places is MRT ( Mass Rapid Transport). Once you land in Singapore you can buy the EZ link Card at any MRT Station. An EZ link Card Costs 12$ wherein 7$ will be deducted leaving 5$ in the card .Consider this Card as your main ticket to explore Singapore. You can hop onto bus or take the MRT to explore the City according to your preferred means of travel all you need to remember is recharge your card at the EZ Link Recharge Counters and tap the card at every entry and exit ( be it bus or the MRT procedure is the same).
2)Download these apps that will be definitely a great help during your stay in Singapore.
SG MRT Map( this one comes quite handy).
- gothere.sg
- Singapore city Guide by Trip.com is an excellent app where you can browse through a list of amazing new things that you can try out near your current location at SG.
- Grab or Uber ( if you would like to try out taxi try Grab or Uber).
There are more such apps that could be helpful but the above mentioned ones are for first time visitors to Singapore. These applications are pretty useful. You need not worry too much about getting cabs/Taxis either since the public transport here is well maintained and quite systematic so travelling in and around SG will never be a problem. - Despite Singapore being a small Country I appreciate the efforts taken to beautifully maintain everything so systematically. If you are visiting Singapore for the first time then welcome to one of the Safest Country in the World. All you need to remember is ‘Just as the people in this country are good to you be good to them as well and enjoy your stay in Singapore’ .

It’s a very useful post, especially for the first-timers. Do you recommend three days for Sentosa, Universal and SEA- One for each?
throughmyeyes426
yeah sure that would be great since there is so much to see in sentosa for a first timer.
You could either get a one day ticket or a two day ticket then cover it slowly.

Will SEA take up entire day? Is it huge like sentosa?
throughmyeyes426
Well, it might not take an entire day as Universal Studios. But it might take 3/4 th of your day especially if you enjoy photography and marine animals. You can plan and combine Trick eye museum along with it if you wish.

Is SEA part of Universal Studio or Sentosa?
throughmyeyes426
Yeah Sentosa is more like a hub of all these main attractions. SEA Aquarium, Trick eye museum, Universal Studios, Madame Tussauds, and many more they are all in Sentosa .
arv!
Haha! I think I’m so confused. Earlier I thought of spending 1 day each for Universal and rest of Sentosa. But now I don’t know how I should address this.
throughmyeyes426
When you come to Sentosa you’ll understand it better..Sentosa is the name of the island and all these main attractions i.e Universal studios, SEA Aquarium, Trick eye museum , Madame Tussauds are in Sentosa.
This is just a suggestion-” if you have enough time, you could set aside one whole day for universal studios , 1 whole day for SEA Aquarium ( though it might only take 3/4 th of a day since it isn’t that huge compared to Universal Studios), and the third day you could combine trick eye museum and madame Tussauds together.
arv!
Thanks for the suggestion. I’m aware that it’s an island but some pieces were missing. Appreciate your suggestions. 😊
