Happy Weekend Trip to Batam, Indonesia.

Batam is a small island in Indonesia. It is a cool place for fun-filled weekend trip from Singapore/ Malaysia. This was a short weekend trip to Batam.

We travelled in a ferry from Singapore to waterfront city, Batam. There is a time lag of one hr at Batam compared to the time at Singapore. Waterfront city is on the western part of the island.

We had booked our stay at Holiday Inn Resort at Batam.In spite of being a small but busy island , we loved our weekend at Batam.

The resort itself could keep us occupied with different activities. We played Snooker and Tennis in the clubhouse. They had pet animals as well. Visitors enjoyed the company of animals and took pictures with them. Rabbits , Chickens and birds. We played with the two bunny rabbits. Then played at the pool and tried a game of throwball in the pool which was super fun .We spent the rest of the evening  planning what to do the next day followed by trying out different games of playing cards .

1)Go on a Shopping spree at Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall: Being the industrial hub you get cool electronic gadgets and other equipments  here at a lower price . You could go on a shopping spree here at Nagoya hill shopping mall. Try out Batam City Square mall for clothing.

2) Enjoy eating delicious seafood at Golden Prawn :The place is quite a treat for dinning. The way the restaurant is constructed gives you the vicarious excitement of eating in a boat house parked in the middle of the river . Food not just looked yummy it was indeed quite delicious.

Those who love Seafood should definitely visit Batam especially Golden Prawn restaurant that we visited. They will enjoy the food served Coz my friends who are a hardcore Seafood fans loved the place.

3) Experience the thrill of Go- Karting at a Go-Karting station. I love go-karting , this was my third experience at go-karting which turned out to be my best experience at it till date. Usually we have to pay per rounds taken in the go-kart, but here we were given 15 minutes to ourselves where we could go ride the go-kart to any speed of our choice.  Those who love Go-Karting or would love to try it should definitely not miss this one.

4) Don’t miss the sunset at Barelang Bridge: Capture the lovely sunset sky and cherish the beauty of seascape .

5) Visit Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Temple: You can also see carvings of the twelve chinese zodiac animals opposite to the huge and elegant Budha Statue.

For weekend trips from Singapore, Batam is a good place to visit.
